Waterproofing a residential development in EC1
We were asked to carry out the design and installation of a Delta Modular system to a new 7 house residential development in EC1R. Each house had its own basement cast in concrete with waterproofing additives and waterbars. Sovereign was brought in to carry out both external and internal waterproofing.
Work
The system specified for the project was Delta membrane systems modular drainage system. This uses membrane to the walls and floor with a series of drainage points cast into the slab.
The walls were prepped with Delta’s Polysil TG500 and membrane was installed internally. Where the ceiling was subterranean, Koster NB1 was used to project the soffit/wall junction.
Externally, Koster NB1 was used to protect ingress at external construction joints.
Project Requirements
The project required quick installation and phased work to allow for follow on trades to get their work done within project dates.
There was a fair amount of complex design and installation around steel beams and soffits to allow for a continuous membrane installation.
